Home  /  Effect of Positive Motivation on Reducing Alcohol Consumption

In 2011, the author conducted a survey of 826 respondents who attended communicative educational programs (CEPs) aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle through positive motivation. 37.0% of those who consumed alcohol prior to visiting the CPC stopped drinking after their visit. One in three (31.0%) reduced their alcohol consumption. For 17.0% of respondents, more than two years have passed since the reduction in alcohol consumption, which indicates the sustainability of these changes. Among those who have given up/reduced alcohol consumption for 2 years or more, there are twice as many women (18.6%) as men (9.4%).
