A quantitative survey of 826 residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg who attended communicative educational programs (CEP) on positive motivation for the formation of a healthy lifestyle (in particular, aimed at reducing smoking) was conducted by the author in 2011. As a result of the CEP, 17.5% of respondents gave up smoking. 9.0% of respondents reduced the intensity of smoking. Almost every third respondent who smoked earlier (29.0%) reduced the intensity of smoking by two or more times. 39.0% gave up regular smoking, but left occasional smoking.
